Do you know what your average blood pressure readings are? How about your cholesterol levels…those HDL’s and LDL’s that you keep reading about, what’s your score? Know what your BMI is? HDL’s are your High Density Lipotropins ( the good guys). LDL’s are your Low Density Lipotropins (the not-so-good guys). Your BMI is a score, based on your sex, height and weight. Your Body Mass Index measures, as my dear grandmother used to say, your lard content. Keeping track of these items, and taking steps to keep them in line, plus an apple a day really will keep the doctor away. A simple blood test will tell you about your Cholesterol. Height and weight, you can check on your own. Many pharmacies and most fire stations can help you with blood pressure readings if you prefer not to drop by your doc’s office….can’t think of a better New Year’s Resolution.
